After winning the franchise’s first playoff road game in 33 years thanks to a spectacular fourth-quarter comeback performance by quarterback Josh Allen and the defense, the Buffalo Bills now turn their
attention to the Denver Broncos. Their role is one of road warriors this season, which is a mentality that Allen and the team have willingly embraced.
Entering the Divisional Round matchup in Denver, FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bills as 1.5-point (-1.5) road favorites over the Broncos. It’s a similar spread for Buffalo as they entered the week prior to play against Jacksonville. In considering the Bills-Broncos matchup with FanDuel, the over/under opened at O/U 46.5.
It’s difficult not to be a bit surprised at those current odds, simply due to the Broncos’ status as the AFC one seed. However, Josh Allen is not just any quarterback, and the playoff version of Allen wins a lot of favor with folks.
Of course, injury and weather reports will play key roles in how the odds trend throughout the week. As to the former, the as-yet undecided time Buffalo and Denver play (either 4:30 p.m. EST or 8 p.m. EST) could play a huge role in shaping game-day rosters. If the game is at 4:30 p.m EST, then roster moves will need to be announced on Friday. Should they play at 8 p.m. EST, then the Bills and Broncos have until Saturday morning for roster decisions.
Buffalo and Denver last played on January 12, 2025 during the Wild Card round of last season’s (2024) playoffs. The Bills won that game 31-7 after giving up an opening-drive touchdown to Denver.
Buffalo leads Denver in the all-time series with a 24-17-1 record dating back to their AFL roots in 1960. Saturday’s game will be just the third playoff matchup between the two franchises, with the Bills holding a 2-0 lead over the Broncos.
