It was a quiet first hour for the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency comparative to other teams, but they made their footprint as the afternoon wore on. After making vocal promises to fix the defense, two early signings proved they were committed to doing so.
Safety Bryan Cook and Edge defender Boye Mafe agreed to three-year deals on Monday, shoring up the front and back levels of Al Golden’s defense. The two were considered towards the top of their respective position groups, so it was a nice first
day for the Bengals.
