According to a report from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, FC Barcelona and Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon have agreed on personal terms for a contract. Gordon, an England international and primary transfer target for Bayern Munich this summer, is a dynamic attacking talent, who could make a big impact wherever he lands.
Per Romano, FC Barcelona is also trying to expedite working out a transfer fee with the Magpies:
🚨🔵🔴 Total agreement reached between Anthony Gordon and Barcelona on personal
terms.
Barcelona are in direct, official talks with Newcastle to close the deal club-to-club.
Barça want to get the deal done quickly to anticipate PL clubs and Bayern, still active behind scenes.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg corroborated the news:
🚨💙❤️ FC Barcelona have already reached a full agreement with Anthony Gordon over a long-term contract, as revealed earlier. Personal terms are also agreed with FC Bayern.
FC Barcelona are now trying to find a financial solution with Newcastle. It’s very difficult. Direct negotiations are ongoing. #NUFC @SkySportDE
A key thing to remember is that it has also been reported that Bayern Munich has already reached an agreement on “broad” personal terms with Gordon as well.
As much as it seems like this is moving very quickly for FC Barcelona and Gordon, the Catalans still have to submit a convincing bid to Newcastle United.
