The Golden State Warriors will wrap up their three-game homestand with a Christmas Day primetime matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. The game will be played at 2:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on ESPN and ABC.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State is 2-0 during this homestand, most recently defeating the Orlando Magic
on Monday night in a convincing 120-97 victory. Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler led the team with 26 and 21 points, respectively.
But while the on-court results were impressive, the moment that drew the most attention came during a timeout, when Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr were seen in a heated exchange.
Green left for the locker room shortly after and did not play for the remainder of the game. Both sides downplayed the severity of the incident, with Kerr explaining Wednesday that things got out of hand and that both he and Green apologized to the team.
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors’ Christmas Day matchup will feature the return of a familiar face, as Klay Thompson makes his season debut at the Chase Center against his former team. Thompson and the Mavs were 2-2 against the Warriors last season. Now in his second year with his new team, Thompson is averaging 11.1 points per game while shooting 36.9% from the field in a role primarily off the bench. Although the numbers haven’t quite matched his past standards, Thompson has already embraced the energy of being back in the Bay Area and will look to put on a show against his former team.
Happy Holidays and enjoy the game Dub Nation. GO WARRIORS!!!
