Syracuse Men’s Soccer, after a disappointing first-round NCAA loss last season, has begun to reload and prepare for the 2026 campaign, as they recently added three new players to their spring roster
Two
of these players come from MLS academies, and one has international experience training with his national team. Furthermore, a transfer from Cal Poly also joins the Orange roster. The class, while not large, seems to have a solid amount of talent, and the three players we have all seem ready to contribute to help the Orange get back to the upper echelon of college soccer.
First, the goalkeeper out of Baker City, Oregon, Grayson Lamb. Lamb has been playing in the Portland Timbers academy for the last four years and has made quite a name for himself in that time. In 2023, he had 9 shutouts, which shows his ability to control games at a high level. He also won three Oregon State cups, being the starting goalkeeper for all of those teams. With the loss of Tomas Hut, the goalkeeper position will be an extremely important position to watch going into next season, and Lamb seems poised to fight for his role in between the sticks.
Next, we have the midfielder out of Reston, Virginia, Badr Laghjibi. Laghjibi has been training with DC United recently; however, he has also found himself playing for Northern Virginia FC of USL League 2. He came on as a substitute for their 2024 US Open Cup match at just 16 years old, although they fell just short to MLS Next Pro side Carolina Core FC. Laghjibi also has some national team experience, as he trained with the Moroccan national team. Laghjibi is a very high-level talent and should be in line to play a big role for the Orange going forward.
Finally, we have the transfer midfielder out of Cal Poly, Jackson Miller. Miller has been an important part of Cal Poly’s team over the last couple of years, as he has started the past three years for the Mustangs, tallying 4 goals and 5 assists. This past season, he made the big west all tournament team, showcasing his ability to be one of the best at an extremely high level. Miller should be able to come in and compete for a starting role right away, and it will be exciting to see how he does in Orange.
These three players all seem like they are going to have a huge impact on the program moving forward, and they are all immensely talented. It will be great getting to watch these players play in Orange next season, and hopefully going forward in their careers. With their help, we can bring Syracuse soccer back to being the top level program we know they can be.
