As expected, there was plenty to talk about during Saturday night’s battle of the blue bloods that saw Michigan lose to Oklahoma by a final score of 24-13. Here’s a collection of some of the best reactions from social media to the game and Michigan’s performance:
With a couple of chances to get off the field, the Wolverine defense gives up a pair of big plays and Oklahoma scores a touchdown on its opening drive
Too easy for the Sooners. Michigan gave up two third-down conversions, then a fourth-and-one. Sooners on the board with a pop pass from John Mateer and Deion Burks.
Those third and longs were killer early last season, too.
Needing to stop its early struggles, the defense and T.J. Metcalf come up with a key turnover to give the offense another shot near midfield
Just as Oklahoma seemed to be marching down the field again, TJ Metcalf picks off an overthrown pass by Mateer. Michigan needed that in the worst way after two straight offensive drives stalled in OU territory
Michigan enters the half down 14-0 — it’s been something of a disaster-class so far for the Wolverines
The end of the half couldn't have gone much worse for Michigan.
* Gio El-Hadi injured
*Botched third down in the red zone
* Missed FG
* Haynes/Underwood spat on the sideline
* OU 80-yard TD drive
It's 14-0 at half, and Michigan's offense is not looking primed for a comeback.
Oklahoma’s offense responds and pushes the lead back to 14 with John Mateer registering his second rushing score of the night
TOUCHDOWN: John Mateer adds another rushing TD to put Oklahoma back up 14. Mateer has 38 rushing yards and 2 TDs, but the impact of his mobility on Michigan's defense has been felt in the pass game, too.
