After longtime general manager Chris Ballard was fired earlier in the week, a handful of Indianapolis Colts key veteran players were asked about whether they’ve considered the possibility of being traded ahead of the league’s upcoming November 10th trade deadline—and regarding their long-term future with the Horseshoe:
DeForest Buckner:
“Right now, I’m just focused on the Minnesota Vikings,” answered Buckner via The Athletic’s James Boyd.
Buckner added, “I mean. We’ll see. I mean if that happens, we’ll see. We’ll see how
that goes,” regarding if he was theoretically approached by the team about a potential upcoming trade possibility also via Boyd.
… “Obviously, all I care about is winning. My main thing is winning and being able to compete for another Super Bowl,” added Buckner per Boyd.
Quenton Nelson:
“Yeah, I mean I love it here,” answered Nelson when asked about his desire to remain with the Colts for the foreseeable future via 1075TheFan’s Kevin Bowen. “Met my wife here. Really appreciate and love this organization.”
“It’s been a long career here. I’ve made a lot of friendships and bonds here that I don’t take for granted.”
Grover Stewart:
“I haven’t (thought about that at all). Yeah, that’s not in my worries right now,” responded Stewart via LockedOnColts Jake Arthur.
Jonathan Taylor:
“I haven’t given it any thought,” replied Taylor when asked about if he’s considered the possibility of being traded via 1075TheFan’s Kevin Bowen.
“That would be crazy right now, especially (because) we’ve got a great Minnesota Vikings team that we have to go against. I think it would be a discredit and disservice to my teammates and this whole organization to think about what could, what should, what may be. It’s what’s happening right now.”
