Jamal Musiala is back in training after his seizure episodes earlier this month. It is great news for all involved to see the young German back on the pitch. Board member for sport Max Eberl and manager Vincent Kompany revealed the recovery plan to get the attacker back to match fitness again.
Immediate goal
The primary goal that the club have set for themselves in Jamal’s recovery is a reduction in the frequency of his seizures and hopefully the ideal situation of a complete stop to the seizures. “With Jamal, after
the last two incidents, we are trying to achieve a certain reduction in the frequency of his seizures. Of course, the big hope is that they disappear completely, but that’s difficult. For now, the focus is on reducing the frequency of the seizures and once we achieve that, he can return to the pitch with us,” revealed Eberl ahead of the DFB-Pokal fixture against VfL Osnabrück (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
No pressure from the coach
Vincent Kompany was asked whether Musiala could be expected to play in the weekend game against rivals Schalke. However, the Belgian preferred to let the attacker’s recovery take its organic time rather than laying any pressure on the 23-year-old. “Perhaps. But I don’t want to put any more pressure on him. He’s doing well, he’s getting better. If things continue this way, it won’t be long,” said Kompany.
This is a methodical plan from Bayern to firstly reduce the likelihood of the seizures before easing the Moose back into the game. VK has once again shown a lot of class in putting the focus back on his recovery rather than the next game he can play. Hoping the best for youngster and really rooting for him to complete his recovery. Gute Besserung Jamal!
