After the announcement that Kalani Sitake would be staying at BYU, a number of their fans flocked to the internet and donated funds to the State College food bank in a “trolling” effort to remind the Penn State faithful they won in the end. This is the kind of playful bragging that actually make the world a better place. The food bank has now stated they have enough funds to feed folks through the holidays.
Not to be outdone by the mormons, it’s our turn to do the same. While Penn State and Iowa State have
not played each other, we don’t get to pick “the last time the Lions beat the Cyclones”, but, we can do like our very own Patrick, and donate after a famous Cyclone, or whatever other number is meaningful to them.
In an environment where it’s easy to see all the negatives, let’s be part of the positives. My contributions were after Iowa State’s Fiesta Bowl win over Oregon, a 34-17 shellacking of the Ducks.
Let’s celebrate our new coach by paying it forward! For those of you who want to donate, you can do so using the Ames food bank donation form.
