Dani Rodriguez has sent a goodbye message to Barcelona and explained why he’s opted to leave the club and join Dinamo Zagreb.
The forward looked to have a very bright future ahead of him at Barcelona but hasn’t quite been able to break into the first team.
He’s now heading to Zagreb on a permanent transfer, although Barca have retained a buy-back option and a percentage of any future sale.
Rodriguez says it’s time for a new challenge and has thanked the club for all their support over the years.
“Today
closes a very important chapter in my life,” he posted on Instagram.
“After six years at Barça, the time has come to face a new challenge. I arrived as a child full of excitement and I leave having grown as a football player and as a person, with experiences and learnings that will always accompany me.
“During this journey, I have had the opportunity to learn a lot and fulfill one of my biggest dreams: debuting with the first team.
“I want to thank all my teammates, coaches, club staff, and the fans for having been part of this chapter. Now a new chapter begins. I face it with excitement, ambition and a lot of desire to continue growing.
“Thank you for these six years. Long live Barça 💙❤️“
Good luck for the future, Dani Rodriguez.
