After a successful official visit last weekend for the win over Purdue, 2026 three-star linebacker Aden Reeder has committed to Michigan. He was previously committed to Wisconsin, but announced his decommitment
from the Badgers earlier this week.
The Wolverines just offered Reeder on Oct. 21, so linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary and company got him on campus very quickly for his first ever trip to the Big House.
Reeder flipping to the Wolverines looks like a smart move on paper when you look at the current depth chart. Ernest Hausmann and Jimmy Rolder are seniors and are out of eligibility after this season. Additionally, Michigan only had one other 2026 linebacker committed in Markel Dabney, another three-star who flipped from SMU over the summer.
When you combine the chance to compete for early playing time at Michigan with the uncertainty surrounding Luke Fickell’s job security and the future of the Wisconsin football program, it’s easy to see why Reeder did what he did.
On the 247Sports composite, Reeder is ranked 555th overall, 40th among linebackers and 27th among recruits from the state of Ohio. The Cincinnati native also had offers from Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Nebraska and Northwestern, among others.
The Wolverines are now up to 22 total commits in their 2026 class, which ranks No. 10 overall in the country.
Reeder had 72 tackles (14.5 for loss), three sacks and three pass breakups as a junior at St. Xavier last season. So far this year as a senior, he has compiled 47 tackles (nine for loss), six sacks and two pass breakups. Check out some of his best junior year highlights in the video below.
