Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou scored 2017’s “Knockout of the Year” with his brutal, first-round uppercut against Alistair Overeem as part of the UFC 218: “Holloway vs. Aldo 2” pay-per-view (PPV) event back in late 2017. The victory was enough to send “The Predator” into his first UFC title shot … which he lost to Stipe Miocic by way of unanimous decision.
Fast-forward to Sept. 2025 and Ngannou was once again paired off with Overeem; but instead of throwing hands, they were having
“great conversation” over dinner. Ngannou, 39, is currently signed to PFL with dreams of returning to boxing while Overeem, 45, has long since retired from competition.

From foes to bros.
No word yet on when Ngannou (18-3) is expected to make his PFL return. There were reports of friction following the PFL Africa event earlier this year in Capetown; however, insiders claim it was not serious enough to keep “The Predator” out of action for any extended period of time.
Stay tuned.
