With a Divisional Round playoff game on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. EST, the Buffalo Bills have announced roster moves connected to the matchup with the Denver Broncos. One Bills Drive has now activated defensive tackle Ed Oliver and wide receiver Curtis Samuel, which paves the way for both to play their first snaps since being placed on Injured Reserve (IR).
Oliver has been injured most of the 2025 season, and makes his return after recovering from surgery to repair a torn biceps that landed
him on IR at the end of October. While rehabbing, Oliver endured damage to his meniscus that required a medical procedure.
Saturday could be Oliver’s first game action since October 26, 2025, when he suited up for a road game at the Carolina Panthers. In total, Oliver played in three regular-season games — Week 1, Week 6, and Week 8. When available, Oliver has been a nightmare for opponents. In those three games, Oliver made 12 tackles (10 solo), seven tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, three sacks, and one forced fumble.
As for Samuel, he, too, has endured a frustrating 2025 season marred by nagging injuries that limited him to six regular-season games and just seven receptions for 81 yards and one touchdown. Samuel could line up for his first game snaps since November 16, a Week 11 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His stint on IR came due to elbow and neck injuries.
Buffalo has also elevated wide receiver/return specialist Mecole Hardman Jr. and running back Frank Gore Jr. from the team’s practice squad. Down a pair of wide receivers in Gabe Davis and Tyrell Shavers (both of whom suffered season-ending ACL injuries), and with running back Ty Johnson questionable to play on Saturday in Denver, Hardman and Gore help to round out the Bills’ game-day roster.
