Hangman Page returned to AEW on Saturday night for Collision (July 11, 2026). The big question was what will the cowboy do since he can’t challenge for the world championship anymore. Hangman revealed his future, and it was inspired by Kenny Omega.
Hangman has been away since March after losing to MJF in Texas Death at Revolution. The stipulation is that Hangman can never challenge for the AEW World Championship again. It was fitting that the cowboy returned in his home territory for Collision in Roanoke,
Virginia. Before Hangman spoke, he shared a little bit of personal news. The chyron stated that he recently had a vasectomy. That nugget turned out to be more humorous than anticipated, because the angle for his promo was about planting seeds.
Hangman was dressed for the occasion with shorter hair, boots, jeans, a white t-shirt, and a cowboy sport coat. He arrived to a loud reaction from the crowd, and that triggered an emotional expression in his face. Hangman explained that he went through physical therapy for cervical radiculopathy. I thought radiculopathy was a made-up wrestling injury based on the word ridiculous, however, it turns out that is the technical name for a pinched nerve in the neck.
In his time away, Page found relaxation in his gardening hobby. There is something beautiful about planting seeds to watch them bloom. He felt it was important to be here on this evening to plant one more seed.
Hangman confirmed that he will honor the stipulation from losing Texas Death to MJF. Even though the stipulation isn’t written in ink, he intends to be a man of his word. Hangman stated, “I will never challenge for the All Elite Wrestling Men’s World Championship ever again.”
Hangman was happy to watch Kenny Omega win the world title from MJF, and it was Omega’s speech after the match that motivated Page. Never quit. Finish the race. Hangman sees miles of empty track. He named off the singles championships and the current champions. For the past seven years, Hangman defined himself by one goal to win the world title. Hangman wondered who is he without the world championship. The truth is that he doesn’t know, but we’ll damn sure find out.
That was an excellent babyface promo from Hangman. It brings him back into the fold with new motivation. The verbal expression fit his anxious character well. Hangman’s words are relatable for encouragement. For fans of the cowboy, he gave them all the reason to support the next chapter of his career without the world championship.
