And then there were two. For better or for worse, the 2025 College Football season is down to two teams for the Big Beer Tap Trophy.
THE PARTICIPANTS:
On one side, Miami-FL finished third in their conference and did not even play in their conference’s championship game. It’s like deja vu al over again. In 2024, Ohio State did the exact same thing and still won it all. As the 10-seed, the Hurricanes defeated the 7-seed, 2-seed, and 6-seed. Last year, the Buckeyes topped Nos. 9, 1, and 5. The ‘Canes have some real mojo
working and could pull this thing off. However, they won’t be playing No. 7 Notre Dame.
Indiana is on a major roll. Everything seems to be going their way. The top-seeded Hoosiers are 15-0 having dispatched of Alabama and Oregon with little effort. Can they keep it going? Nobody expected Indy to be here and they haven’t won it yet. Don’t forget that they were a spectacular catch away from losing to Penn State and had an UGMO game against Ohio State that resulted in a scant 13-10 victory just a month ago.
COVER OR NO COVER?
FanDuel has set the odds for this game at Indiana -8.5 with an over/under of 47.5. That would put the score at somewhere around IND 28, MIA 19.
