The Orioles have unveiled a new slogan/marketing motto for this season: Fly different. Pedantic people among us will observe right away that this is a grammatically-incorrect pair of words. It is rather unlikely that this minor sin against language will have any impact on the on-field product.
Grammar aside, this year does need to be different than what we saw last year. In this episode of the podcast, I run through the opening weekend – games and Shane Baz contract extension – with the thought of different on my
mind. Is this year going to be different? Is different going to be better? You could almost talk yourself into it after Sunday’s win, which absolutely felt like the kind of game that the Orioles would have managed to lose in the early months of last year.
