In the final match of 2025, Bayern Munich decimated Heidenheim in a 4-0 win. More impressively, Bayern won on the road without the services of Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer, Konrad Laimer, Kim Min-jae,
Nicolas Jackson, and Sacha Boey.
The reduced roster presented an opportunity for a pair of younger players, David Daiber and Cassiano Kiala, to earn their first minutes with the senior squad.
“Daiber and Kiala have been training with us for almost eight months,” said Vincent Kompany (via @iMiaSanMia). “They’ve always been up against players like Harry Kane and Kimmich in training, and have gained experience. We knew we could trust them.”
The word around Säbener Straße is that Kiala is a generational center-back that Bayern wants to keep at all costs. Daiber showed his quality over the summer but seems more likely to be a loan candidate due to the glut of talent in Bayern’s central midfield.
