We are a little under 48 hours away from the Kentucky Wildcats facing off against the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia.
In what has become an important game for both teams as they enter into the heart of the SEC schedule, both teams will enter the matchup a little shorthanded. The Gamecocks will be without two starters in right tackle Cason Henry and center Nolan Hay, who are listed as out, while the Cats were hoping to get a few players back to 100%.
One of those players is cornerback DJ Waller.
After being listed as doubtful on the initial report on Wednesday night, Waller is now listed as out, so he’s not playing Saturday.
The other major name on the report for the Cats is quarterback Zach Calzada. After missing the game against Eastern Michigan, Calzada appeared on the initial report for this game as questionable. That’s the same designation he got on Thursday’s report.
We have one more day to see if Calzada can take a step forward heading into Saturday’s matchup. Even if he plays, Calzada will be behind redshirt freshman QB Cutter Boley, who has already been named as the starter.
Tune in tomorrow to see what the outlook looks like for both teams.
