Brazil defeated India 0-4 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata behind 1st half goals from Chelsea right winger Estevao and Flamengo centre-forward Pedro and a double in the 2nd half from Flamengo left winger Samuel Lino. Brazil dominated play, attempting 20 shots on the evening compared to only 9 from their South Asian rivals.
Vinicius had a night to forget, completing only 7 of 13 passes, distributing zero key passes and attempting zero dribbles while also missing a big scoring
chance. The Real Madrid winger, who appears to be playing with little confidence, will need to show significant improvement to justify his place in the starting 11 for club and country alike going forward. Vinicius produced only 1 goal (via penalty) and zero assists for Brazil in 3 matches during this international break, looking like a shell of the player we witnessed just 3 months ago at the World Cup.
Endrick also had a quiet 29 minutes, failing to create a scoring chance and attempting only 7 passes. The Real Madrid forward also saw none of his 3 shot attempts be on target.
The Brazilian internationals now head back to their club teams, the Seleção’s next opponent being Japan on November 14th at the Singapore National Stadium as part of the Mizuho Blue Challenge four-team tournament.
