FC Köln will host Bayern Munich in the DFB-Pokal and while Die Geißböcke will be the home side, it is hard to think there will be much of an advantage.
Even FC Köln coach Lukas Kwasniok can see the uphill
battle ahead of his team.
“I looked for weaknesses, but didn’t find any,” Kwasniok said (as captured by Tz). “They can run a lot, run intensely, they are extremely fast in both directions, they can press high, but also defend the goal passionately when necessary.
“I’m most looking forward to meeting Vincent Kompany. He’s a very likeable person and a very good coach. He’s shaped Bayern into a unit. That’s what sets them apart. We have a home game, and our job is to give the 50,000 people in the stadium a holiday.”
While not necessarily formidable so far this season, FC Köln has been plucky and has the potential to push Bayern Munich hard with a few breaks. Or…maybe there is a weakness to be found? If so, we will find out soon.
