Harry Kane’s impact at Bayern Munich has not gone unnoticed.
Former Barcelona defender Miguel Nadal recently named Kane as the player he believes could eventually replace Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona, praising not only the England captain’s goal scoring ability but also his all-around game and leadership qualities.
“Harry Kane would obviously be one replacement. I do not know him personally, but he looks like a complete club player, a committed player, one willing to give everything for the team.
His performances over all these years have been superb. He is a goalscorer, and everything he does benefits the team. There are other players, of course, but once Lewandowski left, he would be a real point of reference and a great signing for Barcelona,” Nadal told Casinostugan. “The Lewandowski gamble at the time was a bold, strong move. Barcelona were coming out of a very difficult situation, and now they are in a different one, and naturally bringing in a reference number nine, who I am sure would fit perfectly into this situation. I think Harry Kane would be a brilliant signing. But I do not know; what is clear is that Lewandowski has already left, and given his performances, it would be a real treat, a great joy, if Kane could come.”
While the comments are certainly flattering, they also serve as another reminder of how highly Kane is regarded throughout European football. Since arriving at Bayern Munich, he has established himself as one of the world’s premier strikers, combining elite finishing with exceptional passing, movement, and leadership. His ability to score consistently while creating opportunities for teammates makes him far more than a traditional number nine.
For Bayern Munich, Kane remains the centerpiece of the club’s ambitions. At 33-years-old, he continues to perform at an elite level and is expected to play a vital role as the club chases Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and UEFA Champions League success this season. It is no surprise that a player of his caliber would be viewed as the ideal successor to one of the greatest strikers of the modern era.
