Puka Nacua’s status for Monday’s game against the New York Giants is in doubt, as the L.A. Rams’ star receiver did not practice on Friday due to a hip injury. It is not clear if the injury is the same as the psoas injury that caused Nacua to miss a string of practices in training camp, but it’s obvious that his status for this week is up in the air and that’s another potential problem for the Rams.
L.A. just placed Myles Garrett, another star player who missed a lot of training camp due to a knee
injury, on injured reserve.
Nacua caught five passes for 74 yards in Week 1’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He was easily Matthew Stafford’s most reliable target, as Davante Adams was hardly the receiver that fans have expected him to be after a long and decorated career. If Nacua is out for Week 2, Adams will need to step up alongside the Rams’ other receivers, including Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield, Tutu Atwell, Xavier Smith, and C.J. Daniels.
Both Atwell and Daniels were healthy scratches in Week 1.
Nacua missed six games in 2024 and one game in 2025. He was injured in training camp and it doesn’t really matter if this is related or not; it just matters that he’s not practicing. Kam Curl, Omar Speights, and Nate Landman were limited in practice, while Kam Kinchens and Whittington were also out.
Can the Rams withstand any more injuries this early in the season?
