Bayern Munich faced Borussia Mönchengladbach, and with three goals, won their 8th Bundesliga game of the 2025/26 season. The 3-0 win was made possible by exceptional second half performances. The combined
efforts of Serge Gnabry, Luis Díaz, Raphael Guerreiro and Lennart Karl among others resulted in a complete turnaround from the team.
Karl in particular has been nothing short of phenomenal for the Rekordmeister. The 17-year-old has had an incredible week, with a Man of the Match performance against Club Brugge and his first Champions League goal, and now his first Bundesliga goal for the team. The youngster came on for Luis Díaz at the 78th minute and scored 3 minutes later.
The goal was nothing short of perfection — a left footed shot reminiscent of Arjen Robben’s characteristic shot, from right outside the box. The buildup began from Joshua Kimmich, who then passed to Leon Goretzka, and the ball reached Guerreiro. Karl then received the ball, cut in (just like Robben!) and scored.
Manager Vincent Kompany has nothing but appreciation for the youngster, but additionally delivered some advice. “He’s now scored two goals in a row, he’s having a good momentum,” he said via @iMiaSanMia.
“When there’s a lot of hype, which is normal at a club like Bayern, the key is to have a calm entourage and to keep working,” he explained. “And when there’s criticism, you keep doing the same thing. Then everything will be fine for Lenny,” he declared.
Certainly, Kompany is the most appropriate person to deliver such advice given his own vast experience in playing. It’s certain that Karl is just the kind of level-headed youngster who can go places.
Bayern Munich traveled to Borussia Mönchengladbach for a Bundesliga tilt featuring the league first-place and last-place teams.
The game went as expected — especially after Gladbach picked up an early red card, which completely shifted the momentum into Bayern Munich’s favor.
It was a daunting task to ask Gladbach to hold strong for over 70 minutes and eventually Die Fohlen just broke down. Ultimately, Bayern Munich walked away with a 3-0 victory over Gladbach.
