While things remain rather quiet for Liverpool FC in the transfer market for the senior squad, the Reds have remained active, bolstering their youth ranks, especially at centre-back.
Coming on the heels
of Liverpool reportedly signing two of the top centre-backs at the recent U17 World Cup, Austria’s Ifeanyi Nudkwe and Senegal’s Mor Talla Ndiaye, the Reds have now also added 19-year-old English centre-back Noah Adekoya from Burnley.
The “previous time spent with Liverpool” seems to have been a trial the player had with the club.
Adekoya had only just signed his first professional contract with Burnley in October 2025, a deal running until the summer of 2026. He’s somehow found his way back to Liverpool, which is a very nice story in and of itself. With the current U21 centre-backs moving on to the next stage of development in loan moves, Adekoya will finally get the chance to play for Liverpool that he wanted all those years ago.
