All signs seemed to be pointing toward Tiffany Stratton getting a chance to win the WWE Women’s title back from Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42 next month. But Stratton didn’t win the Royal Rumble in January, which was her return from a two-month layoff. There also wasn’t a ton of buzz around Tiffy’s comeback. So with ticket sales off to a slow start, WWE moved one of its biggest stars into the ‘Mania Women’s championship picture, having Rhea Ripley win Elimination Chamber to earn a shot a Cargill.
That leaves Stratton rumored to challenge for SmackDown’s secondary women’s belt, if there’s even room for her and Women’s United States champion Giulia on the cards for April 18-19.
It was with that in mind that The Schmo asked Stratton about “all these rumors” there will be “another belt on the line” at the Showcase of the Immortals for her this year (she retained the WWE Women’s title against Charlotte Flair in Las Vegas at WrestleMania 41). In a rapid fire interview from a NASCAR event in Las Vegas on March 15, Stratton replied:
“Yeah, I have heard those rumors, too, and I feel like they’re just rumors because I haven’t really been told anything that I’m on WrestleMania, but we’ll have to wait and see. I hope there’s a championship involved.”
So what do you think? Is Stratton just trying to keep us guessing, or does she not know if she’ll be on Saturday or Sunday’s card from Allegiant Stadium in less than a month?`
