Joao Felix has described Lamine Yamal as “pure football” and backed the Barcelona star to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
The Portugal international, who spent time at Barca on loan, says Yamal is the type of player that keeps fans “glued to the TV.”
“I’ve always maintained that the Ballon d’Or goes to the player you see and think, ‘Wow.’ This is a star and deserves to be remembered in football history,” he told AS.
“If there’s a player who keeps you glued to the TV, it’s Lamine.
“It’s true that Mbappé and
Kane have had great seasons, but Lamine is pure football.
“He also won the World Cup. In World Cup years, winning it is always crucial to be closer to the Ballon d’Or.”
After winning the World Cup with Spain, Yamal has gone on to start the season in great form for Barcelona.
The teenage has also been impressing with Spain again, scoring in Saturday’s 3-1 win over England.
