Former Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller left no doubts about his future.
Apparently, he likes the Great White North…a lot.
When asked by Kicker whether he will return to Vancouver for another season, Müller
told told the German outlet (as captured by Bild): “Yes, full steam ahead.”
Müller has embraced the country and culture of Canada (he even grew, a playoff beard, eh!). The veteran is eager for Vancouver’s weekend playoff game against LAFC.
“The stadium will be sold out with 55,000 spectators for the game against Los Angeles. Tickets have been sold out for several days now, which is quite an achievement in hockey-mad Canada. We are well positioned in all areas, and a few key players are now returning from injury just in time,” said Müller.
It is good to see Müller adjusting to his new life so well. There was a lot of thought that MLS could be a frustrating experience for the German legend, but he has handled the transition with aplomb. After being cast aside by Bayern Munich, Müller is too busy channeling Monty Python to worry about the slight.
You have to give him credit…the man knows how to have a good time.
How cool would it be to see the Whitecaps win it all?
Song of the Week: “Owner of a Lonely Heart” by Yes
During one of my incredibly long drives to pick up my daughter from school for Thanksgiving break, I had access to one of trial periods on SiriusXM and — of course — gravitated to the channel 80s on 8.
During one stretch of listening, “Owner of a Lonely Heart” by Yes came on and I was thrust right back into 1983. I cannot profess to being some massive enthusiast for Yes, but — to me — this one is a classic. Take the trip back to the 80s for this one with me:
Apparently, the song is gaining a renewed popularity after being featured in the finale of the Netflix series Monster: The Ed Gein Story.
I had no idea, but I might have to check that series out…
Entertainment Rundown
It: Welcome to Derry — Episode 4
Okay, now I’m awake! Let’s discuss…
- Two episodes in a row have been very good and it looks like things have turned. I know I was hard on the first two episodes and — believe me — there are things about the last two episodes are not perfect, but it has been compelling.
- This series is a prequel and an origin story, but it has been great to watch how it has been playing out. Adding an element of the military being involved plus the aforementioned tie-ins to The Shining and have made this a fascinating set of episodes to watch.
- You know it has turned the corner when you start to wonder how any of the characters will make it out of this and survive Pennywise.
- This is totally nitpicking, but the kid actors are overacting a ton in this. It is not quite as smooth with the child actors as some of HBO’s other work.
- There is still potential for this to go off-the-rails, but I have much more hope for it now.
- The more we learn about how Pennywise came to be and those initial interactions (and why he was confined to one space at one period of time) has been completely fascinating.
- Overall, we saw a lot of progress in this episode and let’s hope we see more in the upcoming episodes. It should be noted, too, that I am not going super in depth on these as of yet as the show is still gaining traction, with many folks not caught up. They will start to get a little more detailed next week…be warned!

Game of Thrones
Are you ready for more Game of Thrones? You might have to be.
After the last season-and-a-half (at least) tarnished legacy of the show, HBO could be looking to revive — which begs the question: “Why rush the ending and ruin it with a bunch of nonsense in the first place?”
Anyway, Javi Marcos, who is part of the Los Siete Reinos site, spoke to George R.R. Martin at a the Iceland Noir 2025 festival and might have uncovered some interesting news:
As you know, last week we were in Iceland, as accredited media, for the Iceland Noir festival where George R.R. Martin was present. Besides showing him and giving him our book, Seven Kingdoms , we were able to speak with him, attend his panels… and he gave us a headline-grabbing scoop. GRRM confirmed to us, exclusively for those present at the event, that Game of Thrones sequels are indeed in development.
Martin couldn’t be clearer: there’s a Game of Thrones series—or film—in development, not yet approved, that would take place after the events of Game of Thrones . That’s in addition to the ones we already know about: the live-action project about Aegon’s Conquest and the animated series about Queen Nymeria, Yi Ti’s empire , and the travels of Corlys Velaryon. And we’re rooting for Arya’s adventures.
Yeah…I think it might be best to just let this one die on the vine. The ending of Game of Thrones became a jumbled mess, House of the Dragon has not yet hit the mark (though last season was an improvement), and it just seems like the easiest thing for HBO to do is to half-ass another Game of Thrones show to cash out while the property still have some steam.
It’s pretty simple: Either do it right and commit to finishing it…or don’t do it at all. We’ll see what happens, as we know, a lot can happen on the way from planning to production.
If you wanted to check out our rewatch of Game of Thrones…you can get it here.

Predictions
Bayern Munich should be motivated after a disappointing 2-2 draw with Union Berlin just before the international break.
SC Freiburg could be the perfect mark.
Touted as a defensive squad, SC Freiburg has not really been all that great defensively this season. Offensively, well, it’s even worse. There is talent on the team and surely, the players will be psyched to attempt to take down Bayern Munich, but the Bavarians have never lost a Bundesliga home game against Freiburg (22 wins, three draws).
We do not expect that trend to change.
Prediction: Bayern Munich 3-0 SC Freiburg
Other Bundesliga predictions include:
- Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0 Heidenheim
- Borussia Dortmund 2-1 VfB Stuttgart
- FC Augsburg 2-1 Hamburger SV
- Union Berlin 2-1 St. Pauli
- Hoffenheim 2-1 Mainz 05
- RB Leipzig 2-1 Werder Bremen
- Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 VfL Wolfsburg
- Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 FC Köln
