Castello Lukeba is one of several defenders to have been linked with a move to Barcelona as the Catalans search for a new center-back.
The RB Leipzig star’s future is now being talked about again due to some key developments, according to Diario Sport.
Firstly, Lukeba has decided to change agents and has signed with Excellence Sport, a company that also represents Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.
Any January move for Lukeba has been ruled out, as Leipzig won’t sell mid-way through the season, but the defender is being tipped to depart in the summer as his release clause will drop significantly.
Lukeba’s current clause is set at €80 million but will drop down to €65m in June, per the report. It’s still a significant price but may not be out of reach as Barca are potentially set to offload Ronald Araujo and Alejandro Balde next summer.
The center-back is said to be keen on a transfer Spain, despite interest from Premier League clubs, and thinks his “ideal” club is Barcelona.
