Titans cornerback Alontae Taylor owes the NFL $23,882 in fines for unnecessary roughness in the Titans’ Week 8 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The fine information specifies that it’s for impermissible use of the helmet. The action Taylor was fined for wasn’t flagged in real time, but he was fined regardless. Taylor finished Sunday’s game with five total tackles, one tackle for loss, and two quarterback hits on Joe Burrow.
It’s Taylor’s first fine of the 2026 season.
The Titans went on to lose in overtime
to the Bengals, 43-36.
Taylor hadn’t been fined prior to Week 8, but plenty of his teammates had:
- Week 1: Calvin Ridley, unnecessary roughness, striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing, $12,537
- Week 2: Calvin Ridley, unnecessary roughness, striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing, $12,537
- Week 2: Jeffery Simmons, unnecessary roughness, $11,941
- Week 4: John Franklin-Myers, unnecessary roughness, striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing, $12,537
- Week 5: Micah Robinson, unnecessary roughness, hip-drop tackle, $5,583
The NFL splits the funds it collects from player fines between the NFLPA’s initiatives to support retired players and the NFL Foundation and other organizations that support youth football programs, player safety initiatives, and community health efforts.
