The Golden State Warriors continue their homestand with Tuesday night’s primetime matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. The game will be played at 8:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBC, Peacock, and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State dropped its first game of the homestand
on Sunday night, losing 124–111 to the Atlanta Hawks. The Warriors struggled against Atlanta’s length and athleticism, particularly from beyond the arc, where they shot just 23.8 percent from three-point range. That came despite strong performances from Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, who combined for 61 points in the loss.
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors will look to bounce back against the Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. Golden State enters the matchup with a clean injury report, while Portland could be without two key contributors in Deni Avdija and Jerami Grant. Avdija, the team’s leading scorer at 26.1 points per game, has already been ruled out with a back injury. Grant, who scored 35 points in the last meeting between the two teams, is listed as doubtful with an Achilles injury.
Even with potential absences, Portland still presents a challenging matchup for Golden State. Much like Atlanta, the Trail Blazers have the length and athleticism that can bother the Warriors on both ends of the floor. This means execution will be key for the Dubs, particularly taking care of the ball and generating cleaner offensive possessions.
