After a disappointing loss at home to the NFC West leading San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, the Seattle Seahawks will take to the field Thursday night in primetime to face off against the Denver Broncos.
The Seahawks have defeated the Broncos twice in recent seasons, including a 2024 Week 1 win in Bo Nix’s first career start and the season opener in 2022 in Russell Wilson’s first start in a Denver uniform. However, this is the first time these two teams will face off in Denver since the infamous altitudegate
2018 season opener which Denver won 27-24.
The Broncos won’t have the advantage of high temperatures this time around, but they will get to face a Seattle defense that is still coming together as much of the secondary is working its way back from injury and will be without starting linebacker Drake Thomas.
Interestingly, as the Seahawks prepare to take on Denver, they will have only two running backs at their disposal on the gameday active roster, after having waived Velus Jones and opting to leave the recently signed Robert Henry inactive.
The full list of inactive is:
- QB Jalen Milroe
- Robert Henry
- WR Montorie Foster
- NT Brandon Pili
- LB Chazz Surratt
- LB Drake Thomas
- CB Avery Smith
And now it’s on to the coin toss.
