Raw airs tonight (Oct. 27) with a live show from Honda Center in Anaheim, California. This is the third episode of Raw during the seven week build to Survivor Series, which takes place on November 29.
It looks like WWE forgot about Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair
Late last week, Bayley issued a challenge for WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair to come over to Raw to fight her and Lyra Valkyria, presumably with the titles on the line. Bliss and Flair responded on SmackDown by saying “We accept.” Even with all of that going on, GM Adam Pearce didn’t say a thing about this match yesterday while running down the official lineup for Raw. Did WWE forget about this match, has it been canceled, or is there some other possible explanation for why Pearce didn’t mention it?
Regardless, it was made clear last week that Flair and Bliss do indeed have business to deal with on Raw because Asuka and Kairi Sane said they plan to win the gold. If Flair and Bliss appear on Raw tonight to fight Bayley and Valkyria, don’t be surprised if the Kabuki Warriors attack them before the show is over.
Is a women’s tag team title match what Bayley had in mind when she told Lyra that she has a surprise planned for her birthday? Will Flair and Bliss be on the show tonight to defend the belts and start an angle with the Kabuki Warriors, perhaps building to War Games later this month? Is Rhea Ripley lurking in the shadows with her broken nose ready to get revenge on Asuka and Sane? Tune into Raw to find out.
The rest of the card
Penta vs. Rusev is booked tonight in a number one contender’s match for Dominik Mysterio’s Intercontinental championship. I don’t know how Rusev is still in the title mix considering Dirty Dom has retained the title against him twice on Raw over the last month. Penta also failed to beat Mysterio for the gold this month on Raw, and came up short multiple times against Dom earlier in his title reign. Dom even eliminated them both from last week’s Battle Royal, but GM Adam Pearce is rewarding them for some reason. Perhaps there will be a double disqualification in this match that leads to a triple threat title match.
Nikki Bella returned to Raw last week to save Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer from the Judgment Day, so tonight it’s Bella vs. Roxanne Perez in a singles match. Will Vaquer return the favor to help her WWE Hall of Fame ally when Raquel Rodriguez inevitably gets involved?
Jey Uso took out his own twin brother to win a Battle Royal last week, so now it will be Uso vs. CM Punk for the vacant world heavyweight championship next weekend (Nov. 1) at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Jey and CM have a face-to-face confrontation tonight to hype up their title match. How will Jey address his actions towards his brother from last week? Will The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed crash this segment to lay a beating on both men?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– The big story in WWE over the last 24 hours has been at least four of these quick teaser videos, with different pairs of shoes walking around, indicating that a mystery person or people are either arriving or returning to WWE very soon. Wrestling fans love to speculate about this sort of thing, leading to talks about Santos Escobar, Chris Jericho, Andrade, Tony D’Angelo, Brock Lesnar, Omos, Austin Theory, and more. The first video gave off vibes of GUNTHER, who might be on his way back to WWE to send John Cena into retirement. But if there is more than one person walking around in these videos, could it instead be related to War Games? What about a new leader for The Vision after Seth Rollins was injured and kicked out of the group? Maybe we’ll start to get some answers tonight on Raw.
– Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch called Paul Heyman a penguin-faced prick last week, after losing once again to Maxxine Dupri. Is Becky done dealing with The Vision for now so she can figure out why she’s having such a hard time beating one of the most inexperienced wrestlers in WWE?
– AJ Styles & Dragon Lee are the new world tag team champions, but they don’t want to be called “AJ Lee.” What about “Dragon Styles?” Will JD McDonagh and Finn Balor challenge them to a rematch before they can figure out a cool team name?
– Does LA Knight have a plan for remaining relevant in the world title conversation, or does he need to take a backseat for now?
– Do Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed really believe the line of bullshit Paul Heyman fed them last week about why they need to stick with him to reach their full potential in WWE?
What will you be looking for on Raw?
