Fermin Lopez was a happy man after playing a starring role in Barcelona’s 6-1 win over Alaves in La Liga on Saturday night.
The Barcelona star scored and grabbed two assists and felt his team have responded well to defeats to PSG and Real Madrid.
“There was no better way to turn things around than at the Camp Nou, with our fans, and well, I think we played a good match. We found our rhythm again, and we have to keep playing like this.
“In the end, we knew they were going to play a low block, closing
down passing lanes in the middle, but we scored early, and I think that opened up the game a bit more and allowed us to have something like this. We have to keep going and I’m happy to help the team with assists.
“It’s still only October, but I know that for many, it was a test because they were two very high-level, very demanding matches, and well, we couldn’t get the win in either of them, but I see that the team is doing well, and we’re going to win again for sure.
“For us, it’s incredible; they help us a lot. Lamine and Raphinha make the difference. They are two very important players for us, and with them, I’m sure we’ll achieve great things.”
Barcelona now switch focus to the Champions League and a visit from Aston Villa. Unai Emery’s side were also in action on Saturday, drawing 1-1 with Fulham in the Premier League at Villa Park.
