The Milwaukee Brewers have already won 87 games so far during the 2026 season, and they hold a commanding 8 game lead in the National League Central as of Friday.
The Cincinnati Reds have none of that.
The Reds, who sit 20 games back in the win column of the Beers with just 67, will play host to their division overlords over the weekend for a trio of contests, with Friday evening’s contest featuring Rhett Lowder on the bump the series opener. Milwaukee will counter with lefty Shane Drohan to start,
so manager Terry Francona has stacked what remains of his lineup with righties outside of Hector Rodriguez and JJ Bleday in the outfield.
Apparently going with an all-lefty outfield was too much to ask, so Carlos Jorge – who was promoted to the big leagues for the first time earlier in the day – will begin the game on the pine.
First pitch is set for an early 6:10 PM ET, so plan accordingly!
