What is the story about?
Happy Friday, everyone! The World Series has arrived, so you can expect to see plenty of discussion about the matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays over the coming week as they square off to see who can lay claim to being the best team of 2026. We’ve got lots of that below, plus some Tigers took home early awards this offseason as Dillon Dingler and Zach McKinstry took home their first career Fielding Bible Awards, and Kevin McGonigle netted a Sports News Rookie of the Year
Award. While the big name awards are all handed out in November after the end of the World Series, it’s great to see some Tigers’ players taking home early accolades to celebrate what they achieved this year.
Let’s get right into today’s news!
Detroit Tigers News
- Big day for awards yesterday and the Tigers netted several. The Sporting News ROY Award is not the “big” announcement for Rookie of the Year. That will come November 9th with the Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award voted on by the BBWAA, but this certainly makes things look good for McGonigle.
- Plus the final episode of theis season of Behind the Stripes dropped.
