Kentucky basketball point guard Jaland Lowe has another shoulder injury. How long until we should expect to see the Pittsburgh transfer suit up for the Wildcats again?
Following Friday’s blowout win over
Eastern Illinois, head coach Mark Pope gave a brief update on Lowe. Pope says the team has received “a bevy of second and third opinions” on Lowe and what the best course of action is. They hope to have a final decision made in the coming days, so it doesn’t sound like we’ll be waiting much longer to hear if Lowe’s season is over or if he’ll play again.
“We will have some discussions over the next couple of days about what is the best thing to do,” said Pope. “It’s about the whole group, the medical team, mom and dad, Jaland Lowe, and me having a real conversation about what’s the best thing to do moving forward.”
Pope also gave a small update on Jayden Quaintance, who has yet to play this season while recovering from ACL surgery and hopes to make his UK debut sometime in December.
“With JQ, I’m not spending a lot of time worrying. I’m just excited when he’s ready to go, and it’s gonna be fun,” said Pope. “We have so much to figure out with JQ. He hasn’t been in any type of live action…it will be nine months since he’s actually done anything live and had any contact at all.
“I’m way more curious than I am worried. I’m curious about how quickly he’s gonna learn us and how he’s gonna fit in to the deal and what type of impact he can make and what type of player he is gonna be.”
