Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone reportedly sees no way back for Julian Alvarez at the club following his public request for a transfer at World Cup 2026.
While Atletico are reluctant to sell Alvarez to Barcelona, Simeone is eager for a solution to the saga as he doesn’t want players in his squad who are not 100% committed to the cause, according to Diario Sport.
Simeone is “not going to invest time or energy in trying to convince the player” to stay and simply believes that if he wants to leave,
he should go.
Barcelona are expected to submit a new offer for Alvarez following his latest statements, although it remains to be seen if they will go as high as €150 million.
Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in Alvarez’s services, but it has been said that the Argentina international is focused on Barcelona and not interested in other clubs currently.
