Ultimately, Kingsley Coman did not quite reach a century at Bayern Munich. Just under a month shy of that mark, the France international left Europe and moved to Al-Nassr. What he did reach, however, was
a mind boggling tally of league titles, some cups and a Champions League title. This all had contributed to a very notable status at the club and a status of being loved by almost everyone at the club. But not everyone.
Speaking about his exit, Coman revealed that there was a section of the club that wanted him out.
“At the very end of the transfer, there were things — which I won’t mention — that complicated the situation. I wasn’t pushed out, but I was told that the club was open to a departure due to its financial situation,” Coman explained, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “I had the love of the coach, the fans, some people on the board… but not everyone. There was a part of the club that wanted me to leave. And that part took up a lot of space in my mind. But I’m going to come back to say my goodbyes, because I spent almost ten years there, and it’s the club that remains closest to my heart.”
That revelation is perhaps not so surprising, considering the Bavarians let him go for a comparatively modest fee and the numerous reports hinting that Bayern would be very open to the former Juventus FC player’s departure. It is also pretty easy to interpret from his words that some members on the board were the ones who did not show the love. Who could it have been? And were they right to open the door to an exit for Coman?
