Good morning, baseball fans!
The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be honored tonight at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero San Francisco. The San Francisco Giants have a very special Forever Giant on this year’s list of inductees, and that would be former shortstop and local legend Brandon Crawford!
Crawford joins fellow inductees Jack Clark (rugby), Missy Franklin (swimming), Eddie Hart (track & field) and Jesse Sapolu (football).
To quote Mario Alioto, Board Chair of the BASHOF from the organization’s
press release:
“The 2026 class of the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame features five extremely worthy individuals who have made a tremendous impact in their sport and in our region. It’s a distinguished group that features Super Bowl and World Series Champions, Olympic Gold medalists, and NCAA National Champions and we are thrilled for them to take their rightful place among the other legends enshrined in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame.”
We here at McCovey Chronicles could not be happier to celebrate Crawford and the rest of the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026!
What time do the Giants play today?
The Giants wrap up this three-game road series against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at 7:10 p.m. PT.
