Oh, what fun if you are a fan of the Los Angeles Rams right now, as they are getting much love these days, including from NFL.com who has the Rams listed as number one in their power rankings.
Does it matter?
To some extent, no, because the NFL is such a week-to-week league that L.A. could lose this Sunday and drop 15 spots. But everyone sees those lists, and right now, the Rams are in the number one spot, and it’s not some random power ranking (as much as I love those too!), it’s NFL.com.
So, these current power rankings can matter in terms of recognition this week around the league, and if you are around the league or following the NFL, it’s hard to argue that the Rams are not a top team, if not the top team.
Yesterday, many of us commented on who the “best” team in the NFL was/is?
It seems to me that the Rams are getting a lot of love right here and right now at Turf Show Times, but maybe fans would also feel better if they had beaten the Philadelphia Eagles earlier in the season, and on top of that, everyone is capable of beating anyone (that’s what makes the NFL so much fun), and it’s hard to say who the definitive “best” team really is.
We’ll have to wait for the Super Bowl before we have our answer, I suppose.
A big thank you to all our readers, viewers, commenters and lurkers. We aren’t here without you. Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and happy Hump Day!
NFL Power Rankings, Week 12: Rams take turn in No. 1 spot; Chiefs nosedive out of bye (nfl.com)
“The Rams took a major step toward winning the NFC West with Sunday’s dramatic victory over the Seahawks, and they’re just behind the Eagles in the race for the top seed in the conference. That head-to-head loss at Philadelphia back in Week 3 could end up being the difference, but the Rams have now shown a few times this season against tough opponents that they can win games without the offense carrying the load. Forcing four Sam Darnold interceptions and keeping Seattle out of the end zone for the game’s first 57 minutes was a watershed performance for a defense that has generated eight takeaways in the three games since the bye. Matthew Stafford and the offense should be fine, although watching them struggle on third downs and get progressively worse as Sunday’s game went on was surprising.“
Davante Adams reacts to his 1,000th catch & a DRAMATIC Week 11 win over the Seahawks | Rams Mic’d Up (therams.com)
“Davante Adams was Mic’d Up during Sunday’s Week 11 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Watch the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver celebrate his 1,000th career catch and react to the defense’s 4 interceptions at SoFi Stadium.”
Rams Week 11 snap counts: Playing time breakdown in win vs. Seahawks (theramswire)
“Even when everyone is healthy, the Los Angeles Rams change up the rotations at certain position groups. That’s been evident all year at tight end and cornerback, as well as wide receiver.
In Sunday’s win over the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams were forced to make adjustments due to injuries. Tyler Higbee went down with an ankle injury and Quentin Lake hurt his elbow, causing both players to need replacing.
We’re taking a look at the snap counts on offense and defense to see how much each player was on the field in Week 11.“
