With kickoff just over a day away, Ohio State still found time Thursday to make noise on the recruiting trail. The Buckeyes extended several new offers, including one to another standout out of Georgia. Taking to social media, 2027 interior offensive lineman Jordan Agbanoma announced that Ohio State is now officially in the mix.
The 6-foot-3, 295-pound lineman is rated as the No. 68 overall prospect and the No. 4 interior offensive lineman in his class, per 247Sports Composite. Agbanoma has the frame
and versatility to line up at multiple spots up front, and he brings the length and power needed to excel in both the run and pass game.
Already holding more than 20 offers, Ohio State joins a loaded list featuring Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and several others. The Buckeyes might be entering the picture later than some, but if they can get him on campus soon, there’s plenty of ground to make up.
Georgia has long been a priority state for Ryan Day’s staff, and with several Peach State products thriving in Columbus, that pipeline remains a strong selling point. With offensive line coach Tyler Bowen leading the charge, this is one recruitment worth keeping an eye on.
Ohio State recruiting a familiar high school program once again
When it comes to recruiting, having reliable high school programs to lean on makes life a lot easier. Few schools churn out elite talent year after year, but Ohio State has made St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia a priority stop, and for good reason.
The Buckeyes already cashed in with names like Marvin Harrison Jr., Kyle McCord, and current freshman Isaiah West, and the staff has no plans to slow down. While all eyes are on Jett Harrison in the 2028 class, Thursday brought another notable development out of St. Joe’s: an offer to 2027 linebacker Brandon Lockley, the No. 331 player nationally.
Listed as a safety at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Lockley projects to linebacker at the next level and now becomes one of the latest targets for position coach James Laurinaitis. Ranked as the No. 331 player nationally and the No. 13 prospect in Pennsylvania, Lockley adds to a growing list of Philly stars Ohio State hopes to bring to Columbus.
With the history between the Buckeyes and St. Joe’s, this is another recruitment worth monitoring closely. Ohio State has gone to the well before, and there’s little doubt they’ll be back again.
Ohio State set to host 2026 defensive end target at the Minnesota game
Just a week removed from his decommitment from Clemson, Dre Quinn is already back in the spotlight. Once an early Ohio State target, the 2026 defensive end has reopened his recruitment, and the Buckeyes wasted no time getting back in the mix. On Thursday, it was reported that Quinn will be in Columbus this weekend for the primetime matchup with Minnesota.
Landing a visit this quickly is a huge win for Ryan Day’s staff. With Larry Johnson’s defensive line playing at a high level and the program firing on all cylinders, Ohio State has plenty to sell. Expect the Buckeyes to go all in on making an impression while Quinn is on campus.
Ranked as the No. 395 player nationally and the No. 35 edge rusher in the 2026 class, Quinn is a name to watch closely. The timing couldn’t be better, and momentum seems to be building heading into what could be a pivotal weekend.
