Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl provided an update on injured winger Serge Gnabry (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia
).“He’s very composed and very stable, but of course disappointed. When you’re 30, 31, you probably still have one World Cup ahead of you. I don’t know how much longer he’ll be playing, but it could have been his last chance. It was dramatic,” said Eberl.
Gnabry’s injury effectively ended his season with Bayern Munich and is reportedly going to crush his World Cup
hopes as well.
BFW Commentary
It’s heartbreaking seeing Gnabry like this. As someone who was critical of him for the longest time before he showed his reincarnation this season, even I’m devastated at losing him for the rest of the season and possibly the World Cup. He has slowly won my admiration with how hard he worked on the pitch. In the absence of Jamal Musiala who was out of action for the first half of the season and before Lennart Karl burst onto the scene, Gnabry is the reliable veteran that poured his heart and soul into his performances on the field.
With Bayern facing a mini-injury crisis yet again, I wish everyone was fit so the Bavarians could finally win all the silverware they can this season.
