Barcelona midfielder Pedri blamed his team’s lack of intensity for their 4-1 defeat to Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday afternoon.
The Catalans slumped to a first La Liga defeat of the season and Pedri was asked what was missing from his side’s performance after the match.
“We have to be self-critical. We didn’t know how to attack or defend well in the first half. After the break, we have to improve our game to win again,” he told Movistar.
“We lacked intensity, quality on the ball, there were so many things
missing, and we had to correct that at halftime. We came out better, but we weren’t ourselves at any point in the game.”
Pedri was then asked what was the “worst thing” about the defeat and added: “The lack of intensity. They beat us in every duel, sometimes we pushed our line when we didn’t have to. They also pressured us on man power, and we didn’t know what to do.”
The result follows on from a disappointing loss to an under-strength Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in midweek. It’s been a rough week for Barcelona and the international break looks to have come at a good time for Flick and Co.
