Most Valuable Promotions announced today that former light flyweight champion Kim Clavel, fresh off of joining the outfit earlier this week, will challenge undefeated Sol Cudos for the IBF minimumweight title atop a September 27th Most Valuable Prospects show in Montreal.
Clavel (21-2, 3 KO) has won four straight since a 1-2 skid saw her fall short in title bouts against Yesica Nery Plata and Evelin Nazarena Bermudez at 108. Her minimumweight debut saw her claim a unanimous decision over faded veteran
Anabel Ortiz in February, setting up a bid to become a two-weight titlist.
Argentina’s Cudos (10-0-2, 3 KO) makes the first road trip of her brief career after edging out countrywoman Maria Sol Baumstarh for Seniesa Estrada’s former belt in April. She’s yet to notch a major victory and has less than four years of pro experience under her belt, but unheralded Argentineans are a notoriously dangerous species.
The indefatigable TBA currently has seven assignments on the undercard against both men and women, leading me to believe they can physically shift their sex as needed like a clownfish. The ones to watch are standout Olympian middleweight Tamm Thibeult (3-0, 2 KO) and bantamweight Amanda Galle (11-0-1, 1 KO).
