Matchweek 10 is upon us in the Premier League — Everton beat Frank Lampard’s Coventry City last night, 3-1, to get it started already — and it’s the last one for a couple weeks as the international break shall follow after Sunday.
We’re one of the last teams to play this weekend, so let’s enjoy some other action until then. Enjoy may be in scare quotes.
Today, it’s Leeds vs. Spurs in the Who-do-you-dislike-more Derby, then Arsenal vs. Hull City if you believe in miracles, Fulham vs. Newcastle United
in a game that sounds entirely unappealing, and then Nottingham Forest vs. Sham City in the nightcap, where we’re going to need another miracle.
Only four games in the Premier League today.
There are of course games in other countries, too, because the football never ends.
Of particular interest to probably none of you will be my hometown team going for another win to keep their amazing start to the season going: 11 wins, 2 draws, 0 defeats, sitting eight points clear of always-winners Slovan Bratislava in the one-team league that is the Slovak top division. People are dreaming of a first ever title. But there’s a lot of season to go yet…
Talk amongst yourselves.
