The Las Vegas Raiders complete the preseason Thurday night at home against the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PT.
Let’s look at some Raiders players I’m looking forward to see playing, presented in alphabetical order:
Malik Benson:
Benson may play some in this game. he struggled last week with two drops. Raiders’ coach Klint Kubiak mentioned the group took a step back and they need people to step up. It may have been a message to the sixth-round pick, who had had a strong overall summer.
Let’s see him regain some confidence in this final tune up.
Tommy Eichenberg:
The third-year linebacker might be on the 53-man roster bubble. he was good in Houston last week. He could really help himself with a strong game against the 49ers.
Jahfari Harvey:
The second-year pass-rusher, who was on the practice squad most of last season, had a sack last week. He may be on the bubble again, but he can help himself in this game.
Patrick Johnson:
The veteran addiition was considered a longshot, but he was s tar in last week’s game. He might be able to fight his way onto the 53-man roster with another big game.
Aidan O’Connell:
The Raiders’ third-string quarterback will likely play some in this game. The Raiders have said they are considering keeping three quarterbacks on the active roster. However, O’Connell could also be used as trade bait. Either way, this is an important game for O’Connell, who led the Raiders to a last-second win last week.
Dare Ogunbowale:
The veteran tailback’s chances of being on the roster to start the season improved with Ashton Jeanty’s ankle injury. Still, he can help himself with a big game after scoring on a 19-yard run last week.
Cian Slone:
The undrafted rookie ahs two sacks in the preseason and has flashed since the offseason. The Raiders can’t keep all of their young pass-rushers, but Slone may be a keeper. He can really help himself by finishing the preseason strong.
