Barcelona lost Andreas Christensen to injury in the second half of Saturday’s La Liga clash with Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Christensen started the game in the heart of the defence alongside Pau Cubarsi and picked up an assist for Barcelona’s equaliser from Raphinha.
The Brazilian scored again in the second half to make it 2-1 but Christensen didn’t see out the game as he was forced out on the hour after picking up what looked to be a muscle injury.
Christensen looked fairly emotional on the bench after going off and sat with an ice pack on his thigh for the rest of the game.
Hansi Flick sent on Gerard Martin in his place but will be hoping that Christensen’s injury is not serious.
The problem does at least come at a relatively good time for Barca as La Liga is about to pause for a three-week international break.
Christensen had been called up by Denmark for games against Norway, Wales and Portugal but it looks now as if he’ll have to drop out.
