New York Giants edge defender Abdul Carter, the team’s best pass rusher, did not practice on Wednesday due to a calf injury. His status for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints remains to be seen.
Head coach John Harbaugh would only say that Carter is “doing very well.”
The Giants are already without star edge defender Brian Burns, out for the season with a torn ACL.
Starting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (calf), cornerback Colton Hood (concussion), safety Tyler Nubin (neck), and left tackle Andrew
Thomas (groin) also did not practice.
Not practicing early in the week has been the plan for Thomas since he suffered his injury against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2. Harbaugh said earlier in the week that Eluemunor, Hood, and Nubin would be “day to day.”
