Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is in his final months as a player at the club, but do not expect the veteran to sulk about it.
Goretzka played a key role in powering the squad to a 4-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga.
For Goretzka, who had a cheeky, little assist on a first half goal by Luis Díaz, the squad was at ease during the match and never felt threatened.
“It was a comfortable win. Although the goal we conceded was annoying, we were caught asleep, which shouldn’t
happen to us. Otherwise it was a convincing performance,” Goretzka said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Goretzka is correct — Bayern Munich simply just took care of business and put away an inferior Gladbach side. Sometimes, that is exactly what a team needs to prepare for its next battle. For the Bavarians, it will be Atalanta in the Champions League next week.
