Live from Delaware, it’s Saturday Night! I, NAS204PSU, am here at BTSC to bring you this Saturday Night Open Thread (aka SNOT).
Our Steelers are off for a week, to rest, heal, and recharge. 6-2 is a good record, and the black and gold have more work to do after the bye. In the meantime, we’re left waiting for more Steelers football.
This 6 pack of questions is here to get the conversation going, and also let us know what you’re eating and drinking.
I’d say our Steelers fully addressed the comments by
a certain Cleveland Brown, chapter and Verse if you will, with their dominant 27-6 win.
1) What was your favorite part/play of the win over the Browns?
Given that we’re 6-2 and in first place for the AFC North, the first half of the season went really well.
2) How much credit do you give Mike McCarthy for the 6-2 record?
TJ Watt is tied for most sacks in the NFL at 7.5
3) Predict TJ’s end of regular season sack number and whether he’s still at the top or not (bragging rights to the winner in the SNOT after week 18)
My work is coming out of a month-long turnaround (major shutdown and maintenance at my chemical plant) with long days, lots of issues, etc. We still ain’t up, but they gave the maintenance guys off this weekend anyway to breath, which means I won’t get calls either.
4) When you’ve been overworked, how do you unwind?
My youngest daughter’s field hockey team went “undefeated” (7-0-4), and she was the goalie with quite a few back-to-back-to-back saves. A memorable sequence was where she blocked one, blocked the 2nd off balance, fell, and got up in time to block another shot. The bench cheered her then, and later she was swarmed by her teammates after the game.
5) When life keeps coming at you, who is your biggest “cheerleader”/ supporter?
My eldest daughter is one of those kids who follows directions, running the full 40-50 min during XC practice while others stop and hangout instead of running. She was rewarded by PR-ing her most hated 5k course by 5 full minutes! Super proud.
6) Do you have any “PR” stories (doesn’t have to be running, just a personal best) that you felt really proud your hard work paid off?
